at Visa. Job Description As Chief Systems Architect, you will lead
and manage several strategic initiatives in the Visa Commercial
Solutions group. The architecture group in Visa Commercial
Solutions oversees and provides strategic direction on several
regional/market-specific and horizontal/cross-cutting initiatives.
We ensure that the solutions are built is in alignment with the
architecture and software target state of the platform. As a Chief
Systems Architect, you will provide strategic architecture
leadership to complex projects for Commercial and Money Movement
Solutions (CMS) and guide their delivery. You will work with
multiple CMS and Visa architecture teams on horizontal,
cross-cutting initiatives across multiple products. You will focus
on building secure, robust, and scalable architectures, help the
organization to innovate to deliver higher value to the customers
Essential Functions:
- Play a key role in translating business requirements into
efficient - - - -architecture.
- Develop high level architecture for shared, portfolio-wide
components and services.
- Play a key role in the architectural governance process.
- Develop architectural patterns, standards, and guidelines,
ensure their adoption throughout the organization.
- Drive security and privacy architecture across all product
lines.
- Optimize software development and release processes.
- Work on improving developer experience and tools.
- Optimize the use of existing Visa's Platforms & Solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend open source and commercial technology
solutions.
- Mentor other architects and engineering leaders. This is a
hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both
remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work
from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by
leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office
50% or more of the time based on business needs. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer
Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum ten -(10)
years of experience in a directly related field. OR
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer
Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum twelve
-(12) years of experience in a directly related field. OR
- Minimum fifteen -(15) years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12
years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- Proven experience as Systems Architect or in a similar role,
with a track record of successfully delivering complex software
systems.
- Expertise in designing distributed systems and microservices
architectures, containerization technologies and their
orchestration.
- Solid knowledge of architectural methodologies, principles, and
patterns.
- Deep understanding of big data processing, analytics, and
systems integration patterns.
- Experience in machine learning and AI solutions.
- Experience with one or more programming languages. Java
language preferred.
- Solid knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and
security practices.
- Continuous delivery and Dev Ops experience - infrastructure
automation, monitoring, logging, auditing and security
implementation and practices. Additional Information Work Hours:
Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements: This
position requires travel -5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical
Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.
- The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a

salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,100.00 to
250,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales
incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on
job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills,
experience, and location. In addition, this position may be
