Senior Principal Engineer, Product SecurityThe security of customers' data and systems is of paramount importance to Dell Technologies. Our Product and Application Security team designs and develops software and systems to minimize security risks within our products. - As experts working at the forefront of security, we undertake vulnerability response handling, implement the secure development lifecycle, coordinate security certifications, and develop common software security components and toolkits. As well as ensuring the authenticity and integrity of the product code during product development, we mitigate risks of sourcing and delivery of counterfeit or maliciously tainted components in our products. -Join us as a Product Security Engineer on our Product & Application Security team in Round Rock, Texas to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.What you'll achieveAs a Product Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our products and applications using industry best practices. - You will join Dell's Product and Application Security Organization as a member of our Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) team which is responsible for a strategic program to build demonstrably resilient software across Dell's diverse product and technology portfolio. In this role you will be responsible for securing our software at every level from firmware to cloud and Edge deploymentsYou will:

• Be intensely curious about how complex systems operate and fail
• Provide security engineering expertise for products integrating AI technologies.
• Act as a product security SME to teams, providing practical advice on secure by design, secure by default, risk mitigation and other security concerns

  • Proven experience in product security, separate from application security roles
  • understanding of AI technologies, Secure AI architectures, and risks along with an understanding of the impact of AI on privacy, risks and ethics - -
  • Deep understanding of security weaknesses and vulnerabilities as described in Common Weakness Enumeration, OWASP Top 10, and SANS 25 as well as their remediation. Strong expertise in security weaknesses and vulnerabilities, including those outlined in Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE), OWASP Top 10, and SANS 25. -
  • Strong understanding of Secure by Design, Secure by Default principles, and compliance with EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) requirements, along with effective remediation strategies.
  • Proven track record in secure development practices such as: threat modeling, secure design, secure coding, and the use of software composition, static and dynamic analysis tools
  • Competency in secure coding for multiple languages, including at least one scripted and one compiled languageDesired Requirements
    • Previous experience in developing or securing enterprise infrastructure products, cloud environments or software supply chains
    • Familiarity with modern development practices such as CI/CD and Scaled Agile Framework and Industry certifications: GIAC, CISA and/or CISSP, CSSLPCompensationDell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
