Responsibilities Dell Children's Medical Center is looking for an
exceptional
Hospital Medicine pediatric physician
for our incredible hospitalist group within Dell Children's Medical
Center! Applicants who are BC/BE are preferred, but not required.
If not BC/BE, applicants must have at least 1 year inpatient work
experience, post residency. Position Highlights: Pediatric
Hospitalists at Dell Children's are dedicated clinicians and
educators, practicing state of the art, evidence-based medicine in
robust clinical settings of acute care hospital medicine,
subspecialty care, complex care, surgical co-management, and mental
health. Our institution's growing programs and clinical service
lines provide ample opportunities for Pediatric Hospitalists to
serve the patients and families in our community and region. We
have a 4th bed tower that opened Nov 2022 and a North Austin campus
that opened in the spring of 2023. We provide 24/7 in house
coverage. Responsibilities:
Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic
and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case
management.
Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of
efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided
to patients.
Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting,
attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require
hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs
of patients, medical staff and hospital.
Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and
research) as requested.
Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company
requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for
specialty, which may include on call schedules. About Dell
Children's Dell Children's Medical Center (DCMC) is a 299 -bed
freestanding pediatric facility with Pediatric Level I Trauma
Center, Level IV Epilepsy Center, Level IV NICU, Special Delivery
Unit, Texas Center for Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease, and
Inpatient Psychiatry Mental Health Unit. Our second location, DCMC
North, opened in the spring of 2022 as a 36 - bed hospital.
