Director of Community Management
Job Description
Description:
An experienced community manager or social media strategist with a
passion for engaging consumers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Leads day to day management and responsible for development of
Community Managers
•Responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing
optimization of community strategies
•Evaluates third-party tools and industry trends within relevant
social channels
•Collaborates with Strategy Directors to develop cross-brand
strategies and agency POVs for emerging social media platforms
•Presents community strategies, insights and optimization plans to
clients
•Develops plans for optimizing and evolving community efforts
across multiple brands
•Ensures community strategies are aligned with overall brand
strategies
•Collaborates with other agency Directors to ensure overall client
goals and objectives are met
•Face of agency to industry
Qualifications and Experienced Required:
•A minimum of 7 years experience managing online communities for
leading consumer brands
•8+ years experience in consumer facing marketing (agency
experience a plus)
•Proven ability to articulate social media strategies and best
practices; Experience writing for a marketing or social media blog
a plus
•Extensive knowledge of current and emerging social channels
•Strong knowledge of social media best practices (and worst
practices)
•Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
•An obsessive attention to detail
•Strong understanding of audience targeting/messaging
•Proven track record of success using social media as a marketing
tool
•Thought-leader in the social media community
•Understanding of how business objectives translate into marketing
objectives to drive ROI
•Strong research and analytical skills to back up data-driven
business decisions
•Proven ability to manage and lead a team
•Bachelors Degree required or MBA preferred
Day to Day:
•They want someone who can come in and manage and really be the go
to person for developing and expanding the company, think about the
site, see the events and products i.e. I purchase product x, issues
downloading to site, good strong background developing that time of
community
•How do we market to the community? get out on facebook, twitter or
other sites, things to do
•Want someone to think- How do I go about that all of our people
has it accessible thru all social media, is it accessible thru
facebook or twitter? Going to their facebook site, need to make
sure all of those things grow the community
•Day to Day- working with all the entities, working with sales,
product management, marketing team, engineers, diverse able to deal
with a lot of different entities
•Handling- UI/UX, does it look and feel right not easy to navigate,
can’t see
