PurposeImprove career preparedness for College of Education
students and alumni by expanding internship and professional
opportunities for the wide range of career interests within the
college, including teaching, health professions, sport management,
non-profit, and athletic training, among others. Engage employers,
develop a community of COE alumni, and coordinate internship and
job fairs. Assess Career Service outcomes, liaise with the central
Strategic Outcomes office, and track progress toward the
university's Knowledge Rate (graduates first destination
placements) and Career Outcomes Rate (positive career outcome)
goals.Responsibilities
- Professional Experience Creation: Engage and inform employers
about COE talent within both the Kinesiology and Health Education
and Teaching majors to increase the number of internships and other
professional experiences available to COE students. Gather feedback
from employers to identify strategies to improve students'
readiness for professional experiences.
- Coordinate Internship and Job Fairs: Expand and manage
internship and job fairs that bring potential employers to campus
to engage with COE students looking for various professional
experiences.
- Increase Alumni Engagement: Create meaningful opportunities for
alumni to engage with the college in the form of networking,
mentorship, and community building. Develop culture of alumni
engagement with the Career Success platform.
- Outcome Data Assessment: Assess Career Service outcomesusing
the Career Success database; liaise with the central Strategic
Outcomes office, and track progress toward the university's
Knowledge Rate and Career Outcomes Rate.Partner with COE director
to determine strategies to increase alumni engagement with the
first destination survey.
- Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects
and staffing events with COE.Required Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree and at least 3 years administering or
coordinating a program.
- Demonstrated success in establishing connections with internal
and external contacts that resulted in positive business
outcomes.
- Previous experience creating/establishing a new program or
system that produced positive business results.
- Demonstrated ability to execute an industry event from planning
and set up to event-running, troubleshooting and post-event
breakdown.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make informed and
effective business recommendations and decisions.Required
