Position Summary:
The Rigger will be responsible for setting up, securing, and moving
heavy equipment and materials, ensuring the safety and precision of
all rigging operations. This position requires hands-on expertise
in rigging, lifting, and load distribution, with a strong
commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate rigging equipment such as cranes, hoists,
winches, and pulleys to lift and move heavy loads.
Ensure all rigging equipment is inspected, maintained, and in safe
working condition.
Safely secure loads, materials, and equipment for movement, using
slings, ropes, chains, and other rigging tools.
Work with crane operators and other team members to execute lifts
and move materials with precision and efficiency.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure that rigging operations are
performed safely and in compliance with company and regulatory
standards.
Follow all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE and
conducting hazard assessments.
Maintain accurate documentation of rigging operations, including
load charts, inspection logs, and safety checklists.
Troubleshoot and resolve rigging issues that arise on-site,
providing solutions to ensure project timelines are met.
Adhere to all safety regulations and industry standards, including
OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
Assist in the setup and disassembly of scaffolding and other
temporary structures when required.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a rigger, with a strong understanding of
rigging techniques and equipment.
Rigger certification (e.g., NCCCO, CIC, or equivalent)
preferred.
Familiarity with crane operation and other lifting equipment.
Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to
rigging operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding
environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a
team.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, load charts, and rigging
plans.
Good physical stamina and strength to lift and maneuver heavy
materials.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve during rigging
operations.
Additional training or certifications in rigging or safety
preferred.
