The Role

The Group Sales Coordinator is responsible for supporting our Sales
and Events team in optimizing revenue and group bookings. A full
knowledge of hotel accommodations and amenities is vital in order
to exceed the expectations of our group guests and create a
positive guest impression. This position requires the Colleague to
retain learned technical skills to communicate efficiently,
complete group reservations and run daily reports.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Responsible for actively booking social room blocks (10 rooms
or less)
--- Provide administrative support to Sales and Events team
--- Represent the hotel by answering phone calls and offering
information for group accommodations.
--- Handle inquiries from potential group meeting planners about
meeting spaces, accommodations and event bookings.
--- Coordinate the booking process for meetings, events and
accommodations.
--- Build and maintain relationships with clients through regular
communication, providing personalized service that addresses
requests and needs
--- Assist the Group Sales Managers with site inspections when
needed.
--- Utilize sales training techniques to provide the best call
quality possible to ensure the maximization of revenue and guest
service.
--- Generates additional guest interest in all hotel amenities and
outlets to assist in achieving ancillary revenue goals and enhance
guest vacation experience.
--- Maintains a strong familiarity of hotel and the Austin
area.
--- Remain up-to-date on all hotel offerings, promotions and
changes in policies and procedures.
--- Strong ability to multi-task when needed as well as efficiency
in the operating of multiple computer programs at a given time
--- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications:
--- Minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training in group
sales or hospitality industry.
--- Candidates with sales background in non-hospitality related
field will be considered.
--- Previous use of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook and
Excel is required.
--- Ability to cultivate relationships with both external and
internal guests.
--- Detailed-oriented with excellent skills and time
management.
--- Professional, clear written and verbal communications.
